Before the discussion about Peter Elbow today, I had an idea about what I wanted to write about. Since then, I am not so sure that I want to do that.
I guess the idea is this, I realized that I have been looking at the tree. I need to take a step back and look at the forest. I completely forgot that a forest was even there.

I agree with you Rich. The more discussion we have, the more I realize how much there is about writing and literature, etc. that I don't know. SO, the topics are endless, narrowing the forest down to one tree is difficult when there are so many interesting things out there to research! Glad I am not the only one feeling this way!
Rich, I know what you mean. Isn't it amazing that no matter how much experience we have there's always a big question mark about an assignment like this? I feel much more empathy with my students now! And your blog sounded very poetic. Our group is reading about poetry in the Middle School and listening for poetic comments our students make in every day language. Your tree analogy just "struck" me.
