reflective essay
I wasn't totally hating the reflective essay like I suspected I might. Wow, that sounds really negative. I have to admit, I was more than a bit intimidated. I was not sure where to start and was not looking forward to sharing my disorganized thoughts. I found that it was actually fun listening to the other teachers discuss their ideas. I appreciated their insights on my writing, as well. Thanks, Ladies.

It is intimidating to share something personal with anyone. Our writing becomes part of us. Good job on being brave enough to put yourself out there :-).

I totally agree with your blog post about feeling intimated on the personal reflection paper. I to was struggling as to where to begin, but when we were provided the opportunity to share our thoughts and ideas with others. I found that I was not far off and had some good ideas. It made me feel good to hear others' ideas.

I feel the same way, but it also reminds me how my students feel when I give them an assignment.
I agree with everyone on having the feelings of inferiority when we begin the writing process. I read another entry where Ted said that today we were 'thrown into" writing. Oh well, we all made it through and from the sound of the discussions, everyone made a great start. I think we have such a great group of people here working together that we should not feel so intimidated to share. I feel blessed to be working with such great people this summer.
I think everyone feels that momentary apprehension about writing. But I often view writing like many activities we do; once we get started, we find success. I enjoy sharing with others--I hope we can share the finished products. I'd like to see how some of these stories turn out. :)
Carly,
We all felt the same way at first.Since then we have experienced a level of comfort and safety which allows us to be ourselves. I feel that we experience our own "ghosts" about sharing and others being critical of our own thoughts or comments, but I can see the blanket lifting. We can do this together.
